Nature reserve Janovský Wetland

The Janovský Wetland ensures protection and natural development of the local wetland ecosystem. It helps to retain water in the landscape and slow down surface runoff. It is home to a large number of waterbirds such as the water rail (Rallus aquaticus), amphibians, reptiles and other rare animals and plants. Exmoor wild horses (Equus ferus f. caballus) graze on the wet meadows with enclaves of drier sites and, together with the aurochs (Bos primigenius), add to the overall appeal of the wetland.
